Nihon Rising

 Nihon Rising

Our latest project is a poem/ art/ music/ video. IHONO Arts group and POINT-less Arts group combined their efforts to produce the following tribute to Japan and to promote awareness in the aftermath of the devastating Tsunami that struck in March 2011.

In addition to these two Art groups; over 50 Artists, Poets, Writers and other creative people from around the World, provided images for this project. OXOXO Arts group has kindly offered to announce the project in Japan. A big thank you to all of you that helped make this project a reality. Images and contributor details are listed below.

After a lengthy discussion between Kaoru Fukushima of IHONO Arts Group and myself, we decided that we should create something to help raise awareness of the Japanese peoples plight. I then wrote a poem and recorded it. Kaoru then started creating the music to match the rhythm of the poem, which he did very successfully indeed. I then went about the task of asking my creative friends and associates to contribute an image with a few words from the poem, overlaid onto the image. I compiled it and the rest, as they say, is History.

We hope that you enjoy the video and that it raises awareness that this disaster is far from over, but there is hope!

Gwylym,

My heart is full after watching this. Thanks to you and all the people who helped put it together.

The words and images are a beautiful testament to the memory of those who perished in Japan's disaster. They are also a great symbol of hope for those who survived and must carry on.

I feel honoured to be part of a community who contributed but a tiny part to this project. I sincerely hope this will remind people that recovery takes time and to continue our aid.

I'd like to humbly offer my gratitude and appreciation for all your hard work. You've created a beautiful, touching piece.

You've done an amazing job Gwylym, of pulling this all together. Especially considering your wide world of contributors. Your reading is beautifully rendered. Thank you for asking me all those months ago to participate. I am truly honored.

Gwyllym,
Thank you so much for this effort. What a powerful piece! I am honoured and made better for having participated.

Absolutely amazing Gwylym! Powerful indeed, and having lived in Nihon for 3½ years there was, of course, an emotional connection to your work, and it was an honour to be a part of Nihon Rising! Brilliant! Roger ☺

Powerful Gwylym! I am deeply honoured to be part of this project. I am actually from Canada rather than the U.S. as listed but it is a small world and the countries are neighbours after all. Shall be sharing. Terrill Welch
